B.Y. Yanabout this book: The Lynchman's Owl came to me fully formed, an image of an owl standing atop a hangman's noose against the backdrop of a starless night, with the moon half-obscured by tumbles of black clouds rolling slowly across the sky. I know not where it came from, only at that moment I felt a shudder as if I had seen the personification of ill-omens and worse fortunes. Applied to the injustices of the world, he then sprung from my imagination a full-fledged terror who was once the bane of the criminal underworld of a weakened empire on its death throes.

This book has been written for the readers of the classic pulp serial adventures of yesterday, drawing inspiration from some of the all-time greats in that class. Most notably Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes serials in the Strand Magazine, of which the style of writing draws closest to. Every month a standalone 'issue' is published, with collections twice a year. Every individual story contributes to the overarcing narrative of the story, which I hope will endure and bring as much enjoyment to the readers as it did this writer with every word put to page.
