Book: The Wonder of Us by Yosef Albriccategories: Book, Self Help, Relationships, Universe, Love, God, Spiritual Story
Yosef Albricabout this book: The Wonder of Us is a unique book in its conception and presentation. It is written in poetic imagery as short sections that could be called chapters if they were longer. The style paints pictures with words.
Each section is complete in itself and can be read separately but when read in sequence they form a powerful story. The story is the search for love in both an earthly form and with the Universe, with the premise that Spiritual and physical relationships are one and the same.
The Wonder of Us is also a personal story of part of the authors spiritual journey.
Review. Part of email to author.
First, it reminded me of the books in the old testament traditionally attributed to King Solomon that are known to us as the books of Wisdom – Eccleciastes, Sirac, songs of songs etc. Even though - as in those biblical writings - at times, I found David's work repetitive, predictable to read, I could not stop, because of the beauty of the poetic language and imagery ...
There were undertones of Gibran's " The Prophet" which I could not fully appreciate at the time I read it - thirty years ago. This is different in it's subject matter but it had the same effect of making me think!
