A Fantastic Read About an Amazing Adventure

"The Sorcerer's Drum" is the best book concerning African slavery that I have read. Kelvin Christopher James first caught my reading attention with his brilliant short stories in "Jumping Ship". He then followed with the absolutely outstanding "Secrets" and then the romantic horror story, "A Fling with a Demon Lover".

With this saga of an African prince's escapades, once again Mr. James is impressive. The story moves quickly, delighting with its variety of voices, its marvelous locations, action and plotting. James' voice is at once authoritative and musical; his language is always captivating. The novel ends with a promise of a sequel named "Web of Freedom".
