Pete Van Kerk a.k.a. Peter van Wermeskerken about this book: This is a short story (6300 words), that ranked high in a contest in London. It contains some events that happened to me and my wife during our honeymoon. The story centres Julie, a young woman. She experiences the worst day of her life. That culminates when she at the end of the week wants to go home. But there are a kind older lady and a young man, Trevor, that offer assistance. Reluctantly she let's them, in particular Trevor. Poor Julie wakes up late, arrives late at work, boss and clients are miserable to her, her stomach is empty. The worst: when entering the station she sees only the taillights of her train. She shows her temper and brakes her shoe. As from that moment she travels in companianship. In all bad luch they learn each other to know. For the better.
This is ideal for reading in public transportation, in hospital, on a rainy day, or a day off. I presume in particular women will like the story, because it ends well, with two hearts that get forged.
