Book: Three Stories From Hazel S. Muller - Writer With No Name, Horse of a Different Dimension, & Once Upon a Soul by Hazel S. Mullercategories: Book, Writing, Memoir, Short Fiction, Magical Thinking, Feeling Lost, Short Stories
Hazel S. Mullerabout this book: These three stories come out of personal experience.
The first story, Writer With No Name, comes from a completely irrational fear of public speaking, especially in front of people I know. Some of the story is really me, like the way the story just seemed to write itself, but the ending I hope turns out differently.
The second story, Horse of a Different Dimension, sort of happened but a lot of it was imaginary after visiting an arts and craft sale at NMSU in Las Cruces one Christmas season while on very strong pain pills.
The third story, Once Upon a Soul, well. . . it is the musings one day of an older middle-aged lady on a journey to the child within.
These three stories are ones that I had fun writing. I wrote Horse of a Different Dimension, and Once Upon a Soul on an electric typewriter and was using the latest technology of the time. It seems so funny now that all we have to do is backspace to correct a misspelled word, not erase it or start all over again.
