Phyllis J. Burtonabout this book: Fifteen Brushes with Love! is a book of fifteen unique short stories about love, lost love, family love, infidelity, lovers who meet in dreams, love in 1801! temptation,in fact all life is here.
In THE VILLAGE FETE, an elderly widow had promised her husband that she will wait for him for ever and she does...
A child wants a Doll for Christmas and her widowed mother cannot afford to buy it for her.
A woman tries to sell some sexy underwear in a second-hand clothes shop. Why!
Young Conchita Gonzales is forbidden to sit for an artist, who is rumoured to be using nude models... These snippets all prove that love makes the world go round.
My reader would probably be a woman, but not exclusively so: these are romantic stories (some with a twist!). I have been writing them in between writing my full-length novels. The title almost wrote itself: there are fifteen love stories. The cover shows a man and a woman walking in the snow towards the sun, which seemed very apt.
I always feel that the hardest part of writing any story, is editing...editing and editing in order to make it as perfect as it can be. Nobody likes to read a book which is strewn with errors. What did I learn from writing these stories? That is quite a hard question to answer. It made me realise how many different kinds of love there are and I hope that anyone who reads FIFTEEN BRUSHES WITH LOVE will come to the last page feeling just a little lighter in spirit and reminded of when they fell in love...
