Stacie D. Wyattabout this book: Conversations--is a print edition of my first three short stories: Conversing with Normality, Conversing with Salvation, and Miscarriage. Each short story started off as part of a contest for LuLu. All the books are available in Kindle format. I did not want to publish a print edition of each story because of the word count. Each story is 600 words or less.
Conversing with Normality: Is based on a real conversation I had with my oldest, who is Autistic. The conversation was about food. Conversing with Salvation is based on a conversation I had with God about my oldest son's salvation. How can he be saved if he may not understand about God and his blessings. Miscarriage is about my miscarriages. I had two--2005 and 2009. The first one occurred when I was about 4 months along and the last, when I was about 6 weeks along. The first one did not affect me as much mentally. I was sick for weeks--fibroids, herpes outbreaks, back pain, leg pain. I was in pain. A 5 minute walk to the bus took me 45 minutes because it hurt to walk the parking lot and hill to the bus stop. The second miscarriage took more out of me mentally. This miscarriage helped me finally go celibate, almost two years later. I lost respect for a lot of men. I experienced postpartum depression. I was a wreck. I thought more about the potential father (and not having sex with him anymore, which was a stupid thought then) than losing the baby. I lost the baby three days after finding out.
The hardest part of writing was moving from poetry to short stories. I never really tackled short stories before and was not sure about characters or plot development.
The cover was designed with the cover designer in CreateSpace. I liked the cover because of the wand, bringing magic into a book. I thought the cover was cute and adorable. I also loved the colors.
The title was based on the titles of Conversing with Salvation and Conversing with Normality. I am having a conversation with either myself, the kids, or God. I have added one more title to the conversations series and may add it to the book later.
