Marva Gregorio De Souzaabout this book: Reading books was a major event in our home growing up. I clearly recall trips to the library with my mother and sisters and being lost in as many different worlds as my heart desired.
I started writing short stories after attending a screenwriting course and taking on board the advice to sit at a computer and write something, anything that comes into your head – so you can call yourself a writer. Hettie was the first character to spring from my finger tips and I enjoyed the process so much I discovered others with a tale to tell and words of wisdom or foolishness to impart.
Words are my thing. A well written, or more accurately, uniquely written passage, verse, sentence or description inspires me; gets my juices going. I also love a good twist at the end. Off the page and in the flesh, I wouldn't hurt a fly (unless it hurts those I love of course) but most of these stories took a naturally dark or somber turn – perhaps I was allowing an unfulfilled side of me to surface. Or perhaps it just felt good to experiment and see where it would take me.
So here I am; a bank of stories later and with the encouragement of my fantastic family, all my favorite computer fellows are bound together, in a book to share with the world.
Pocket Full of Bleeding Posies – my babies in your hands.
