Book: False Idols and Other Short Stories by Tony LaRocca

Tony LaRoccaabout this book: When I was young, I would check out science fiction short stories and novels from the library, and read them late at night by flashlight. These stories became old friends over the years that were never forgotten. In that vein, here is a collection of nine science fiction short stories, ranging from contemporary settings to future alien worlds. Written over a period of twenty years, its themes include "What is reality?", love, loyalty, religion, the human condition, and issues such as consumerism and GMOs crops.
Within, you'll find a man tortured by pre-programmed nightmares, a steampunk bull, a planet of deadly insects and the idols they create and worship, a nightmare world caught between dimensions, ancient rivalries, lost souls, reality-weaving angels, and an army of demonic chickens. Some will frighten you, some will make you think, some will make you laugh, but all will entertain you. I can't claim to be up there with the sf giants of old, but I hope someone will stay up late, reading these under the covers.
