Joy V. Smith about this book: I love sharing my stories--as often as I can--and these fourteen stories have all been published elsewhere at least once--except for Royal Guardians, so I decided to give it a home here. The stories are mostly SF, with three fantasies tossed into the mix; btw, Well Met By Water, my mermaid tale, is SF, not fantasy. And Stray Cats, which is about shape shifters--sort of--is also SF. The stories range from fun to adventure and include aliens and unicorns. However, I usually include relationships and challenges in family relationships, such as in Home Not and When Danger Rules. Pilot's Course includes family relationships and symbiotes.
What Price A Friendly Freep (you'll have to read that to find out where I got that idea!) looks at relationships between the crew of a space ship and the aliens who decide to join them. The Trees of Home focuses on family relationships when the family has doubts about the wife and mother. What can she do prove herself to them? How about taking them on a vacation they won't forget. The Princess Quest looks at the relationship between the princess and the barbarian she needs to help her on her quest to prove herself worthy... The Doorway and Guard Dog (its sequel) involve the relationship between friends and strangers.
