L. S. Gibsonabout this book: Questor is a science fiction novel about a spaceship lost in the far reaches of deep space and their desperate search for supplies and a way home. Their need for supplies seems to be answered when they find two inhabited planets, but there is more going on in the region than the Questor's crew could possibly imagine. Helmsman Jon Hardesty and Science Officer Johnson Mannheim (Manny) are sent on an introductory mission to the planet Rhiava where their craft crashes due to interference in the atmosphere. The inhabitants of Rhiava prove very helpful and Jon and Manny find themselves among friends. Jon in particular is very taken with a young Rhiava female named Triena, though he has a lot to learn about the Rhiava.
5* from a reader on Goodreads:
• "I loved this book. The world LS Gibson has created is full of contrasts from what appears to be a very simple society on the one hand to a real sci fi landscape on the other. The story has lots of surprises and that's because the plot doesn't take you where you expect to go. Excellent stuff!"
