Laurel A. Rockefellerabout this book: The Lost Tales is a collection of deleted chapters, poems, and short stories that did not make it into The Legacy of Princess Anlei Trilogy. It's a trip through wonderland where you get a glimpse into what might have been but wasn't quite right for the trilogy. It's a fun companion book inspired by JRR Tolkien's Lost Tales -- only compiled while author Laurel A. Rockefeller was alive.
As you might expect from deleted chapters, much of this book is in rough form, reflecting the earliest material for each of the books. Those curious about the development of the series from its fan fiction origins should check out "Prince of Elenim" which was one of the transitional names for the series.
Another gem is the short story telling the tale of how Prince Kendric and Lord Elendir first met.
Finally members of the Society for Creative Anachronism will love "A Beinarian Princess in King Arthur's Court" which is set in the early days of the East Kingdom and is centred on one of the first SCA events in the Shire of Nithgaard, back in the days when Gavin and Tamara were king and queen of the East. You are even treated to some Beinarian speech which did not make it into the trilogy.
So get Lost in another galaxy for a mind bending ride you won't soon forget.
