Yvonne Andersonabout this book: When I embarked on my first flight through the Gateway to Gannah (i.e., while drafting Book #1 of the series, The Story in the Stars), I had a particular scene in mind for the ending. However, once I started writing, I realized too many the things would have to happen before we could arrive there, so I had to choose a different place to end. Words in the Wind was, in part, my attempt to reach the conclusion I'd originally intended. (I didn't succeed, by the way; it took me a total of four volumes to get there.)
Each of the four books in the series has a theme, an overarching truth that, as a Christian, I feel compelled to share with anyone who will listen. Book #1 illustrated the fact that God is the Creator and Lord of all. His truth is universal, and each of us must ultimately reckon with Him no matter who we are, where we live, or what we believe. The theme of Book #2 is the unchanging nature, universal authority, and absolute reliability of God's word.
Two fun facts:
Despite the serious nature of the story and its theme, readers will find a bit of dry humor here as well. For instance, the first two words of the book are "The end," and it concludes with the same phrase. Also, look for the pun in the name of a minor character who makes a brief appearance in Chapter 43.
God has a sense of humor, so why shouldn't we? I had a great time writing this book, and I hope readers enjoy it as well.
