Yvonne Andersonabout this book: The Story in the Stars launches from an age-old premise into territory no sci-fi has gone before.
It sprang from the theory that when God created the heavens and the earth, He arranged the stars in constellations that tell the gospel message for early man to "read" like a picture book. The author intended to write a short story about characters discovering this "story in the stars" for themselves. But the short story turned into a full-length novel about the planet Gannah. And then, having discovered too many fun things about the planet to fit into one book, the author felt compelled to write three more.
Much like earth in many ways, Gannah is very different in others. For instance, in one region of that world, a forest looks like a kaleidoscope, as the various trees have leaves of every color imaginable. All over the planet, animals are intelligent and can communicate with the humans—but their interactions are seldom friendly. Men and women have distinct roles in society, and woe be unto him (or her) who blurs the lines. And God is real and personal to all who open their minds to see Him.
Readers don't always approve of Gannah's culture, but they all agree that the planet is beautiful, the descriptions are clear and sharply focused, and the characters are so real they step off the page and sit in the chair beside you.
If you'd like to fly through the Gateway to Gannah for some serious sci-fi adventure, The Story in the Stars is the perfect place to start. But come at your own risk: once you breathe the air, drink the water, and eat the food grown in the soil of Gannah, you won't ever want to leave.
