Bea Cannonabout this book: Juri Turner has problems. Since the age of three, she has been changing into…something else. Something with scales. Now she's fifteen, and lately, the changes have sped up. Which is why it has become an even bigger problem.
She is an occupant of Haven, an institution for the rehabilitation of wayward youth due to the fact that she was caught with a food card she'd lifted from a prominent citizen of her deteriorating society. Kept in isolation because of a lifelong peculiarity that causes anybody coming into contact with her to form an intense dislike of her, she knows she can't keep her new changes hidden for long.
The only good thing is that the factor that makes people hate her seems to have dissipated. However, she figures that won't help her any when the wings and tail she's growing are discovered.
Does her changes have anything to do with their conquerors, the Artesio, an alien race that came from somewhere in the universe twenty years before and kicked the crap out of an Earth that was 'way behind them technologically? Or is it something else altogether?
Read to find out what unfolds as Juri strives to learn the answers to these questions and more.
