Evelyn Coleabout this book: Gambling for Good Mail is a light satire of life in Orange County California. Felicia, a Connecticut transplant, is addicted to good mail: surprises she's ordered from catalogues. She fills one bedroom of her two bedroom condominium with useless stuff. Because of this addiction and her inability to relate to her husbands, all five have left her. She gets a job as a time-share salesperson and joins a therapy group for people with strange addictions.
When practically bankrupt, Caitland, her suicidal niece comes to live with her and rescues her in many ways. When Felicia wins a Romance Novel contest, a week in Newport Beach with an Italian Count, Caitland warns her not to fall in love, but Felicia ignores that.
Not a Romance Novel, Gambling for Good Mail nevertheless contains a lot of love.
One reviewer wrote, Gambling For Good Mail is a juggernaut look at Southern California life. From relationships to romance novels, religion to self-help groups and New Age treatment centers, this book traipses through life with a smile.
