Bruce A. Bordersabout this book: When fifteen-year-old Kyle Davis decided to run away from home, he never imagined life could be so rough.
Following an argument with his father, and being told he still needed to grow up, Kyle leaves home, ready to face the world on his own. Dismissing his Father's old-fashioned notions of hard work and family values as being the road to maturity, he vows to never fall into the trap of being tied down by working a job. He is convinced his father is wrong and he'd prove it - if only life would cooperate.
After a few hard-knocks, he finds it's not as easy to survive in the real world as he'd thought. Could it be his dad had been right?
Kyle then begins to realize his journey hasn't just been one of miles but of growing up as well. Still, he's not quite ready to admit he was wrong.
When he finally decides to swallow his pride and go home, he discovers the world didn't stop and wait for him; home isn't quite how he remembers it.
