Author Jackelin J. Jarvisabout this book: It's about Rome. Everything Roman. From Roman recipes to Disney characters, games, history, habits past and modern, buslines, street maps, language, movies, restaurants, you name it!

• What inspired you to write this book?
The clients that stayed at the hotel pension inspired me. They could never find what they were looking for in travel books on Rome. When I witnessed two girls ripping out the 'useless' pages I started composing my list of what would later be The Devils of Rome Made Me Do It.

By the time I gathered all the information using pen and paper, and collecting photos and losing them all twice, I felt the devil had to make me do it.

• Why did you choose this cover?
The cover was a mind blend of me and my Brazilian friend. The character is me, created by a Cinècittà scenographer friend with my cat Nero. The cobblestones are original Roman streets.

• What was the hardest part of writing your book?
The hardest part was sitting hours on end on the computer redoing and redoing, endless countless hours.

• Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?
I learned no matter what comes to sabotage you, keep going! Learning the histories of Rome enhanced my life, practicing the Roman recipes whilist living there did too. And the city itself became familiar to me like an old neighbourhood. I share all this. I learned writing a book is a mixture of love, hard trying work, and dedication.

• What do you want to say to your readers?
I wish to tell readers I appreciate them. If they could feel the magic of Rome, receive assistance, be entertained, laugh or learn something, this would joy my soul.
