Kristi Cramerabout this book: In a case of mistaken identity, Cassandra Reyes is abducted from her office in Seattle and taken to Juneau, Alaska. Drugged and dumped in a hotel, she wakes with no notion of where she is or why, and only vague flashes of the events that brought her there. When she finds bush pilot Nicolas Knight, she doesn't know if he truly is just a stranger who wants to help, or if his sweet concern is hiding some dark connection to her abduction.
For his part, Nick doesn't know what to do with the beautiful woman he runs into one night outside her hotel room. (Okay, he was totally going full stalker trying to find out why she looked so familiar.) When she turns to him and asks a simple question, he gets drawn into her quest for answers. Cassie is a remarkable, strong woman, yet hauntingly vulnerable, and when Nick learns her story, he knows he must help her.
Cassie knows that if her abductors aren't stopped, they will keep looking for their intended target. That leaves no question in her mind—or Nick's—as to what their goal must be. Together, Cassie and Nick will risk everything to protect a stranger from experiencing what Cassie just went through...or worse.
Knight Before Dawn is my debut novel, and one I had no problem conceiving or writing. My imagination ran away with me one day at work, when, like the opening scene of this book, I was in the bathroom wishing I was anywhere else. Unlike Cassie, though, I was able to return to my desk with the seed of an idea, which evolved into Knight Before Dawn.
