Lindsay Townsendabout this book: As a child I loved 'Treasure Island,' 'The Hobbit,' and 'The Moon of Gomrath'. All were adventures and all were concerned in one way or another with treasure, especially a valuable object that needed to be found and recovered. I took that interest in adventure and in treasure to create my own adventure in 'A Secret Treasure.'
The treasure in my romantic suspense, 'A Secret Treasure' is an ancient statue, of pure gold. In the story it becomes a symbol of the free spirit of the Greek island of Rhodes, where I set the story. To add to the romantic stakes I open 'A Secret Treasure' in the late 1930s, when Rhodes was under Italian, not Greek rule. My heroine and hero are on opposite sides in this brewing conflict and their growing feelings for each other are sharpened and focused by that divide. I also wanted them to be changed by their encounter with each other and by their relationship.
There is also danger in the story, the ever-present threat of discovery of the treasure and more.
