Faith Mortimerabout this book: I'm known for my murder-mystery-thrillers novels, but this time I decided to take a break and write in a different genre. This novel is primarily a romance with a unique ending. I enjoy a good romance but so often the story is formulaic and the ending predictable...I wanted to write something which surprised the reader...including a bitter-sweet ending. I also like my book settings to take place in different countries, and of course then different cultures play a big part. Because of this and the characters within the story, the title seemed perfect, and likewise the cover - French lavender grown in Provence, and the colours represent the French tricolour.I always spend time researching my books contents, facts matter and I strive to ensure they're correct. During my research I find I come out knowing a lot more about the subject I'm writing about! So if readers who love a good romance, with some suspense and surprises thrown in are looking for something new...A Very French Affair is for them!
Latest review quote:
• "I'm an avid fan of Faith Mortimer's novels which are usually in the murder mystery genre. Now she has taken the bold step of branching out into romance, not my usual cup of tea but I shouldn't have worried. As usual, she writes brilliantly and I was swept along by the story line from page one. The reader really empathizes with the main character in this book and it's hard not to feel strong emotions throughout but especially at the bitter sweet end. Another great book from a great author."
