about her book: This book is a romance with a strong dose of adventure and suspense. I wanted to write a book that was exciting and thrilling in terms of plot line with a full-on passionate romance story woven through the action.

My partner is an ex-cop and is the inspiration behind the international crime story that forms that backdrop for the love affair that is the main theme through the book. I love to travel and many of the locations in the book are favourite places that I have visited over the years. My favourite city for romance is of course, Paris and it is here that one of the most tender scenes in the book takes place. I love romance - poetry, champagne, flowers, sunset kisses and passionate satisfying sex between lovers with no holding back, so be prepared to blush if you are of an innocent disposition!

My heroine Anna Leyton is a detective with Interpol and whilst she has had a mostly successful career, her personal life has been a disaster. A chance meeting with a stranger in a taxi re-awakens her longing to feel loved. She lies about her life and her job, just enjoying the banter of an apparently harmless flirtation. Admitting to being a cop was a killer in the romance stakes. What harm could come of it? After all, the end of the taxi ride would mark the end of their brief encounter. However, our hero Freddie is persistent and needs to be seen with a woman in London - he too has secrets and so the affair continues.

The scene is set - their mutual attraction is undeniable and out of control - but neither has revealed the truth of their lives.

Anna is put on a new investigation and her would-be boyfriend is revealed as a potential key player in the mafia-led gambling and match-fixing crime syndicate they are trying to crack. Anna is ideally positioned to infiltrate Freddie's world - but only by going undercover and maintaining the facade of deception that started with the taxi ride.

How far would you go for your job? Could you lock up the man you adore? Could you look into his eyes and tell him you love him and mean it, knowing that your relationship is founded on lies? Would he still love you when he found out?
