Chantel Rhondeauabout this book: Lilly Price is a former socialite, running from a horrible past. The night a man broke into her house and brutally attacked her, her fiancé also went missing, presumed dead. Suspicion turned to Lilly when the police discovered her motive for murder, that Charles had been physically abusing her. With the assumption that she hired a hit man to rid herself of Charles, Lilly spent two months in jail awaiting trial. The circumstantial evidence against her was too shaky for a conviction, so Lilly fled her former high-society life to settle in a small, lakeside community, hoping to rebuild her life in anonymity.
Zach Woodbridge has problems of his own, widowed three years earlier after an unhappy five-year marriage. When Zach's family insist he start dating again, he comes up with a plan to hire Lilly, a pretend girlfriend for the summer. While spending time with Lilly on a family outing, it doesn't take Zach long to realize a fake relationship with her won't be enough. The challenge becomes breaking through the trauma of Lilly's past and convincing her to trust in him and his love for her.
When Lilly notices a car following her and then receives a threatening phone call, the couple fear Charles might not have died at all. The stalker seems determined to break them up, and there are no bounds to what lengths he will go to make Lilly his, always and forever.
• What inspired me to write this book
Always & Forever was very important to me; from the moment the idea entered my head, Lilly Price's life and what she went through consumed me. It was a book I couldn't NOT write. I liked the idea of a woman who lived through something so horrible being able to pick up the pieces of her life and move on, coming out the other side stronger for the experience. This story is mostly about the love connection between Zach and Lilly, but it is also the story of Lilly's struggle back to her independence.
• "Captivating, exciting, suspenseful and hot are just a few words I can safely use to describe this book. Chantel Rhondeau had me enthralled from the very first pages, and I found it extremely difficult to put this one down." — Susan B. Anna from Satin Sheets Romance
