Book Review: Dare To Believe by L.A. Sartor
|5 stars, 1 review|
L.A. Sartorabout this book: Dare to Believe is a romantic suspense set in the majestic mountains of Colorado and idyllic beaches of Hawaii. It's a "who-dunnit" turned "why-dunnit." I really believe why someone does something heinous is key to any story. What makes people do bad things?
Imagine, Cate Malloy is about to start a new life with her young daughter Haley, when on moving day, Haley disappears? Has Haley run away, is she playing a trick on her mommy?
Then imagine, what if Cate has no-one to turn to for help. Sure the police, but no support and no money. So if there is a ransom she couldn't pay it.
Along comes the man whose heart she broke years ago and yet he offers his assistance. Why? Because Jason St. Pierre can't stand that an innocent child might be harmed. And when they find out Haley is a pawn, watch out.
Can the heart find a way back to love. Can old hurts be forgiven? Can you Dare To Believe it will?
Hours of actual research went into the book. I lived in Hawaii, and I now live in Colorado. Virtual research plays a big part in all my writing as well. And for the legal scenes (short, emotional and big impact) I used an attorney's help. All of this blends with my imagination to craft this story, to take you on a journey.
The cover! Wow, I love it. I'd like to hear what you think. It's NOT traditional and I like that. The watercolor comes from Jackie Horii, who lives in Hawaii. Does it scream Romantic Suspense, maybe not. But you tell me if it works.
I've been writing for years, won many awards and now get to move into the digital world. How cool is it that my books can be read all over the globe? Pretty darn cool.
