Nese Ellysonabout this book: Escape to Sanctuary is and edgy Christian Romantic suspense. Dr. Evangeline is home from medical missionary service in Africa when she is shot at. She finds shelter at a place called Sanctuary. FBI agent Colton Segers is looking for answers in a missing persons case when he helps a local pastor take a woman with a gunshot wound to the local clinic. The local Sheriff is no help since he seems to be the culprit. Trying to keep Evie safe while she keeps helping people needing medical attention isn't easy and being attracted to her isn't helping. It's become personal.
• ...Another special facet about this book is that it strikes that rare but perfect balance between a Christian and secular romantic suspense.
• ...The story started quickly and moved along at a good pace. At no time did I feel disengaged or bored. I enjoyed the way the story gradually revealed Evie's unusual thinking about her fortune to both the reader and Colton. The author did a great job of describing a slick, smarmy and downright bad Sheriff. Even the gangsters and drug dealers had more heart and humanity.
