about this book: Devil's Gold paints a picture of a corner of the world that has been devastated by oil production. With no regulatory agencies governing any environmental protection, the Niger Delta is being swallowed by poison. Dr. Cassidy Lowell is fighting for a cure. Not only is she facing a corrupt government but also an oil company that will go to any lengths to secure their foothold in the region—including genocide. Paired with an undercover operative, Jake Anderson, Cassidy faces danger, career suicide, and a roller coaster of explosive action that takes them from the Niger Delta to Yellowstone National Park and back.
Devil's Gold was inspired that sheer beauty of Yellowstone and majestic peaks of the Grand Tetons. As a wildlife advocate, I tend to keep my finger on the environmental pulse of the world. Research often leads me down paths that I'd rather not go. The true destruction of the Niger Delta left me speechless (which is rather hard to do) and heartbroken. I matched that with my love for wolves and gorgeous territory of the west, mixed it all together, and created Devil's Gold.
I hope that my readers take away the knowledge that the Niger Delta faces extinction. I hope they fall in love with Cassidy and Jake and root for them to turn the tide of environmental pollution. Most of all, I hope that my readers will join me on Cassidy's next adventure in ANGEL FALLS where she faces the destruction of the Amazon and another darker evil that hides beneath the canopy of the jungle.
