Alesha Caryabout this book: After spending a month writing my NaNoWriMo novel, I knew it wasn't ready yet, but I wanted to make sure I had some kind of fiction written by the end of the year. I was familiar with my characters, the setting, the basic premise behind the series I envisioned. So I set out to write a shorter "pre-quel".
I ended up with a romance that involves my main character (Caroline Dawson), but does not revolve around her. This novella focuses on Carrie's niece, 22 year old nursing student, Sarah.
Both women are relatively new to the area, Sarah is returning to school after a 3 year hiatus where she has taken care of her invalid mom. Carrie has relocated to the small coastal town after a messy divorce.
Sarah's schedule leaves little time for dating, so when Tony, a patient at the hospital, invites her out, she decides to give him a chance.
Things move a lot more quickly than Sarah is comfortable with, and she starts questioning the wisdom of continuing to see Tony.
Luckily Aunt Carrie is an expert who is used to spotting warning signs in people's handwriting. What she finds is revealing, and Sarah decides to trust her instincts.
But, will Tony take NO for an answer?
This book introduces the characters. In the next book, 1 Script 2 Many, The women deal with a suicide that has just too many notes causing too many questions. This time Carrie is recruited by the local police chief to help make sense of the conflicting notes and figure out what really happened.
