Book: Bouquet of Thorns by Sheila Claydon writing as Anne Beverleycategories: Book, Contemporary, Literary, Retro Romance, Romantic Fiction
Sheila Claydonabout this book: A very long time ago, while I was still a teenager, I sometimes helped my mother who was a very talented florist. With her I visited cruise ships and hotels to help build floral displays. I also delivered floral tributes and learned how to keep the blooms at their absolute best. It left me with an abiding love of flowers so it was inevitable that one day a character in one of my books would be a florist.
As for the rest of the story, well I used to live close to a hotel just like the one owned by Sean Marlow. I’ve also visited an awful lot of wine bars in my time so it wasn’t much of a stretch to weave all these strands into a story and place Sean and Sarah right in the middle of it.
I originally wrote Bouquet of Thorns in the 1980s and I am so delighted that Samhaim Publishing has decided to republish it under its Retro Romance label together with three more of my early books. It offers a window on what life was like all those years ago because apart from the cover little has been altered. What is it about? Well the title says it all! Enjoy.
