Book: Her Something Impetuous by Kim Hunt Harriscategories: Book, Chick Lit, Full of Fun, Lighthearted Mystery, Drag Queens, Exotic Dancers, Romantic Comedy
Kim Hunt Harrisabout this book: Her Something Impetuous is a romantic comedy with an "older" (Karen Way is *gasp* pushing 40!) heroine and a smoking hot tattoo artist (Will Corcorran) all too willing to get Karen into as much trouble as he can. What starts with Karen looking for an impetuous adventure on the eve of her impending divorce quickly turns into several brushes with the law, a seemingly endless parade of exotic dancers, drag queens, and much more dangerous types (like ex-husbands and snarling teenage daughters!)
This book is humorous, mostly lighthearted but also has some tense moments and suspenseful plot twists, and was a complete blast to write. My goal was to create something fast-paced and fun, and I'm proud of the results. For research, umm...let's see. I did have extensive conversations with my gay ex-boyfriend about drag queens and gay bars. That was interesting...and it actually helped the writing a lot.
What do I want to say to my readers? THANK YOU. That's all, just thank you. And I hope you enjoy it.
