Book: Justine's Auction by Patrizia Murray

Patrizia Murrayabout this book: I always ask couples how they met, and I liked this story, told by friends. Other than the circumstances of their meeting, everything else comes from my fertile imagination.
Under protest, Justine and Ryan agree to help promote a cause that is dear to both their hearts, by volunteering to be auctioned off to the highest bidder for a date. The occasion is a fund raiser for Breast Cancer Research at a posh live and silent auction in Phoenix, Arizona.
When Ryan spots Justine on the runway, he just has to have her for his date, and outbids everyone else who is also after her. Turnabout is fair play, so when it is Ryan's turn to be auctioned off, Justine empties out her savings account to buy him as a date.
The theme here is Breast Cancer Awareness, and how Ryan manages to cope with thoughts of the disease, as he helps his sister to cope with her treaments. He is a cancer-phobe, but with his sister intervening to push him in the right direction toward love, he finally figures out that the power of love will overcome history and fear, which leads our protagonists to a HEA.
