Toni Noelabout this book: Restored Dreams was inspired by a retired rodeo rider who proudly wore a silver belt buckle commemorating some rodeo event he won every day as he remodeled an upstairs bathroom for me. His long legs made it difficult for him to work in tight quarters, but he always had something pleasant to say, so I asked him if he'd mind if I wrote a book inspired by him.
In Restored Dreams a wealthy retired rodeo rider turned philanthropist rides into the little town of Lakeview hoping to right the wrong his grandfather who made off with the hard earned savings invested by many of the residents when he left town in the middle of the night with those funds. One of the residents he'd really like to help is Treasure, a local middle school teacher who owns the old Victorian house in need of repairs that sits on three hundred acres of prime land she has no intention of ever selling.
Treasure has misgivings about hiring a stranger to work on her house, but since she doesn't have much money and he promises to work cheap, she agrees to let Buck do the work. Then if rains and her roof leaks and Buck has to replace the roof, too. Treasure can sees dollar signs, even when she's teaching school. Fierce pride prevents her from accepting Buck's offer to bring her house back to its original beauty for free, so he barters his own labor to other residents to obtain the supplies he need for her job.
