Diana Lesire Brandmeyerabout this book: What would you do if you lived in the 1800s and were told it's time to get married?
What if you couldn't find someone you loved much less liked enough to spend the rest of your life making breakfast, darning socks, and having his children?
Alma has big dreams involving something-anything that would allow her to use her creativity. She's happy taking care of her father and keeping the promise she made to her mother before she died. But life is changing for her and her father and Alma is not happy when her father insists she marries before Christmas.
This novella is part of the 12 Brides of Christmas series. All the stories had to involve a homemade gift. Each story can be read alone as they don't share towns or characters. Writing this brought back memories of making gifts for my own family members and friends when I was young. It brought back a desire to have a simpler Christmas one focused more on Jesus than the gifts under the tree.
