M C Raj about this book: Madderakka is about the romance between an Adijan boy in India and a Sami girl in Norway. They become partners and then starts a saga of cultural convergence that paves a new way for common understanding among indigenous peoples of the world. People in general, do not have much information about the Sami lifestyle and culture as well as that of the Adijan people in India who are known as Dalits and are untouchables even today. Madderakka offers a treat on the Sami land, Sami Parliament and Adijan culture in India. I have done researches in Norway on the Sami people and their Parliament. I am a Dalit myself. The similarities between these two cultures inspired me to write this novel. All those who like to read an interesting novel will like to buy this book. Those who are romantic about realities of life will find this book fascinating. I just took three months to write it as my research materials were already on my table. The title is taken from the Sami name Madderakka. She is a Sami goddess of childbirth. She also represents nurturing and protection. I explained the theme to the cover designers and they came up with this wonderful cover design. I could not have a normal life and sleep for three days when I plotted the death of Veeran, the hero. It was very emotive. While writing the book my love for the cosmos rose to the skies. I still live by the experience of nature and am deeply connected to nature.
