Mark O'Nealabout this book: Greer Matthews is one of the top students in the country. He attends Clark University in Atlanta on a full academic scholarship and has a job at Target. The problem is he's having issues with his longtime girlfriend and is worried about getting his first B since grammar school. He then breaks up with her, and he gets turned down for a summer internship in sports marketing.
However, his life would eventually take a turn for the better when another employment opportunity opens up, and he also finds a new love. Will he embark on a new and exciting journey, or will everything blow up in his face?
The setting of Gifted takes place in the new future, and I wanted to write about something that was new and fresh. My primary audience is African-American, but I wanted to garner a broader readership than I was accustomed to reaching. As for the cover of the book, I found a very talented graphic designer from Australia named Willsin Rowe who is able to understand my vision perfectly and put it on a book cover. I put my heart and soul into every novel I write, and I want my readers to be captivated from start to finish.
