Toni Kenyonabout this book: Everyone has, at one time in his or her life, lusted after an unattainable celebrity. We've wondered about the public figure and the private person. Private Love in a Public Place takes you behind the scenes and on tour with Julian MacAvoy and his long-suffering personal assistant, Mags.
I wrote this book because I wanted to explore the power one man has to hold millions of people's hearts in his hand. To investigate the role of music in certain people's lives and to try and fathom how success influences the choices people make.
My own life has been considerably influenced by music. My father was a musician, I sing and my son is also a musician. The music of Robbie Williams helped me through a particularly difficult period in my life about a decade ago. I'm forever grateful to all musicians who spend the time to craft and create songs. I wanted, through my love of words and story, to explore further the influence of music on society and people.
Oh and I love romance, so I wanted to put Mags and Julian through absolute hell and write lots of hot sex scenes! ;-)
The result of this is Private Love in a Public Place.
