• What inspired you to write this book?
Through my experiences and experiences of others I consulted and coached, I was guided to write this book because I am a "why" guy. I seek knowledge to understand the "what", "how" and "why" of things and this "thing" in particular was the relationships I maintain or created, in business, and personally. And the question that I asked was why the same situations or people keep coming into my life? And more importantly, how can I change the way I am valued in a relationship if I don’t value and respect myself.
And from what I've learned is that it starts with you, stretching yourself outside of what you perceive is normal to achieve extraordinary relationships in business and life when you start valuing the relationship that matters most in your life...YOU.
• Who are the primary readers of your book?
The primary readers of my book are people who are looking to create great relationships or enhance their current relationships in business and life.
• How long did it take to write it?
It took me four years to write this book, mainly because of my schedule, and travel, and also I didn’t want to rush. I wanted the book to flow from inspired thought so there was no rush and I wrote when I was either inspired or gained more insight through experiences and this book is truly wonderful when it all came together.
• How did you come up with the title?
It was inspired thought that brought me the title STRETCH YOURSELF because once you get a different view or a different perspective on something that will change your thought process, it will never go down to that last predominant thought. Oliver Wendell Holmes says it best when he states “Man's mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions.
• Why did you choose this cover?
I chose this cover because I came to a realization that we are all meant to shine, and for me to hide behind a pen name or a fancy cover is not me. And if my cover would inspire others to shine and be all they wish to achieve then I made the right choice. My cover is the ending of a journey of experiences about relationships that I went through in my own business and personal life. That I came through it all and I am standing tall with more wisdom and insight to help others through the darkness to find the clarity they seek in their relationships whether it business or personal.
• What was the hardest part of writing your book?
I think the hardest part of writing my book was sticking to the outline, because once I started writing, I uncovered a lot of things that would be helpful for others so I had to make a conscious effort to give as much as I can, stick to the outline, and whatever is left will be for the next book.
• Did you do research for your book? What did that involve?
The research I did for my book came from my own personal experiences that I had within my life that made the questions. From there, I talked to clients, interviewed successful people, actors, and athletes and asked the same questions. From there I came to the understanding that successful relationships had a pattern, which, from the pattern, I made it the basis that you should have in every relationship whether it is business or your personal relationships.
• Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?
What I learned from writing this book is stay true to your core values and who you are, be consistent in your actions, and finish strong with whatever you do and the relationships you keep in business and life will be the greatest relationships you’ll ever experience, because that is ultimately relationship you attract in your life that you keep with yourself.
• What do you want to say to your readers?
To everyone that has the opportunity to purchase this book whether in ebook or audiobook, I hope you enjoy reading this book and gain new insight as much as I enjoy writing, reading, learning and experiencing from what I learned and may it bring you to a conscious awareness of the relationships you allow in your life.
