Elizabeth Baileyabout this book: The rules governing conduct in the Georgian and Regency world were very strict, especially for women. What if our heroine has not been brought up in this milieu? How will she cope when faced with having to remember every little foible of the fashionable world, even to when her gloves should be on or off?
Fascinated by this, I thrust poor Tiffany into the fashionable world and helped her not at all by giving her a chaperon who is unacceptably vulgar. When she runs into a leader of fashion in the Conqueror, she finds an unexpected champion who understands what she is going through.
William, amused and intrigued by Tiffany's self-confessed incompetence with the rules, is moved to help her and thereby endangers his own position in society. His manoeuvres to avoid disaster, while finding himself increasingly attracted to this impossible ingenue, threaten to throw both parties into disarray.
The intervention of his best friends does nothing to aid matters. Will the resulting tangle ever be resolved?
