Thomas Hudsonabout this book: Shedding My Skin is exactly that. It shows me on a journey through part of my life and finally being able to say how I feel about love, relationships and many other aspects of life.
I never knew I had this voice, for most of my life, emotions and feelings were buried deep inside an armoured heart.I am now able to speak through my poetry so I am like the reptile that sheds it skin and emerges new.
I ask the reader to join me on my journey, to make my words theirs and be willing to commence the process of shedding as I have.
I began writing in 2003 and published my first collection of poems in 2012, the inspiration came from life itself. The love I feel, the pain I endure and the joy I shout are all spread across the pages for all to see and feel.
Though the words flowed from me, it was sometimes difficult to continue. Writing these words meant being totally honest with myself and of this I was scared. By some means I persevered and the result is the collection aptly named Shedding My Skin.
