about this book: The premise for A Fitting Place, as for my memoir, is that the potential for emotional and spiritual growth is greatest when you are in a situation that causes you to re-examine your beliefs and values.
However, most people do not have the option I did—of quitting their career and sailing off into the sunset. A Fitting Place explores the opportunities for growth in a situation that could happen to almost anyone. In the novel, Lindsey Chandler remains in her hometown in a familiar environment, but is hurtled out of her comfort zone when her husband walks out.
She soon slips into a rebound romance that, not surprisingly, leaves her ensnared in the destructive behavior patterns that plagued her marriage. But because her new love is a woman, she can't blame her dilemma on gender stereotypes that portray men as strong and capable, but also controlling and insensitive. Lindsey is forced to look in the mirror and begin to take responsibility for the consequences of her own actions.
