 Great Book

Pastor Brad has discerned and debunked some very strongly held misconceptions about what the Bible really means when it speaks of Lust. Our false view of lust proceeds from a false view of the human body. We can't help but find it attractive... God made it beautiful, fascinating, and wonderful. And He made us all sexual creatures who long to unite with another. These things are good, but we have been told -- and act like -- they are bad. We've believed the lie that proclaims that if we find ourselves responding naturally to another person, we are perverse and our interest in them is perverse. Instead of celebrating that attraction as God-given, we call God's gift "evil."

I applaud Pastor Brad... but I wish he had gone further... telling us how the human body reflects the Divine Image, further explaining why it is so attractive to us. Sadly, our culture (and the church) can only see the impact of its sight on our libido; we don't see God revealed there. It was in going to that next level that I found freedom from pornography in my life. http://mychainsaregone.org is a site that some pastor friends and I set up to tell how God delivered us from that bondage. Pastor Brad's treatment on Lust will also serve to help people understand their own bodies as a beautiful gift from God, including its sexually. [by Pastor Ed Martin]

 This Changes Everything!

I couldn't put this book down! It challenges much of the legalistic constructs of our conservative Christian view of sexuality, particularly exposing the silliness and sadness of all the guilt and shame we embody related to our understanding, or FAULTY understanding, of lust. This book certainly sets captives free to ENJOY life, liberty, the grace of GOD, and beautiful people! The section on self-pleasuring was hilarious, eye-opening, thoughtful, and liberating. A MUST read for anyone wanting to be completely free from the heavy chains of legalism.
