Roger Penneyabout this book: The Bible is like a jig saw puzzle. The pieces all fit together to make some marvellous pictures, stories and wisdom. All the big questions are answered, it will work in practice, if we let it, and there is a marvellous consistency without any mistakes.
Regarding the Minor Porphets they are possibly the most least read portions of the Sacred Writings. This is sad. necaise they are indeed very special but it takes time and diligence to find out how to use the wisdom contained within these beautiful literary gems.
As prophecy they fit in with the major prophets of Isaiah, Jeremiah and Ezekiel. Daniel is rather unusaul for the English reader since it is considered one of 'The Writings'. The Hebrew Bible is in three sections. Law, Prophets and Writings. However the whole Bible is a book which is also "fearfully and wonderfully made".
Let me give you an example. Malachi tells that,"they that feared the Lord spake often one to another. And the Lord heard it and a book of remembrabce was written." It tells us several things here. It shows us something of God's character, if we have eyes to see this. It also tells us how godly people ought to behave with one another and, quite remarkably, emphasizes and illustrates Deuteronomy chapter six. But I will, with that leave you to look that up for yourself so that you get the enjoyment of it.
