Book: The Fifth Seal - The Rise of Petrus Romanus by Dennis R. Berrycategories: Book, Petrus Romanus, Christian, Armageddon, End Times, The Last Pope, Prophecy
Dennis R. Berryabout this book: An ancient prophecy is unfolding. The papacy has been usurped, and it is up to Father Michael Weller, a priest with dreams of his own death, to stop the madman before the entire world is thrown into chaos.
The Fifth Seal is, ultimately, about the battle between good and evil. Loosely based off a 12th century prophecy about the end of times, the story pits a Roman Catholic priest against an arrogant, self-serving archbishop who usurps the throne. The priest is on the run, leaving a trail of chaos and murder in his wake. The story tells the tale of how God manipulates "fate" to bring about His desires, and brings people together from all over the world in a plan that was set in motion centuries ago.
This book is based on Saint Malachy's "Prophecy of the Popes", as supposed 12th century prophecy about the end of the papacy, the church, and civilization. There are differing opinions on the Prophecy of the Popes, of course, but many believe that the last pope, Petrus Romanus, will be the one to usher in those evil days. It's also interesting to note that if the prophecy is to be believed the current pope, Benedict XVI, is the next to last.
