Joy V. Smithabout this book: I did a lot of research for my post-apocalyptic novel, Strike Three. I bought three survival manuals: the US Army Survival Manual, Just in Case: How to be Self-Sufficient When The Unexpected Happens by Kathy Harrison, and When All Hell Breaks Loose: Stuff You Need To Survive When Disaster Strikes by Cody Lundin. I also tracked down specific information online about shelters, the military, the government, and more... I cover preparation; living in a shelter, whatever it might be; and rebuilding your life from the soil up...
Strike Three, the title, is, of course, the baseball term and refers to WWIII. Are we--is the planet--out? There are multiple characters who prepared in various ways, but was it enough? What would you save? And does rebuilding include a new government, a new capitol, taxes?!
Note: I mention a variety of locations in the US, where the story is set, but I do not ignore the rest of the planet...
