Vasily Pugh

about this book: Having seen the current plethora of post-apocalyptic films, books and tv series - usually featuring good looking, chiselled people shooting brain dead cadavers in the face - Vasily Pugh (who insists on writing in the third person for no particular reason) decided a more original take was needed.Taking a break from his magnum opus (that will probably never be finished), Pugh decided to take the theme in a new exciting direction where ordinary people face extraordinary situations. There's a smattering of action, a dose of humour and several other things that you will have to discover yourself.

The title is inspired by a song by avant garde musician Col. Bruce Hampton and I think it sums up the real feeling someone has in this situation - if you want gun-toting bravado I'm afraid you might be disappointed. However, if you are looking for a moderately well written adventure with a splosh of wit and good characters, please take a chance on 'Basically Frightened'
