A Hopelessly Partisan Review of the Review of the Hopelessly Partisan Guide to American Politics

Given who I am, I suppose it's not surprising that I am in agreement with David's review. My only purpose here is to point out that the book was published in 2006 rather than 1996, and that the choices regarding food that drops on the floor were to pick it up or throw it out.

That said, however, if someone can show me data indicating either Republicans or Democrats are more likely to lick food from the floor, I'll consider an updated edition (which, truth be told, I'm considering anyway). I'll also kick in a family-size container of Spic 'n Span and a gift certificate for a swiffer. [by Ken Berwitz]

Hysterically Funny! Even Though it Was Written Years Ago

This book is hysterically funny. It compares Democrats and Republicans on the everyday stupid things we all do and make decisions on. And the fighting between the authors, Ken Berwitz and Barry Sinrod, is a riot. You can read this book any time, anywhere. You can just turn to any page and see how Democrats and Republicans are different for things like whether they talk during sex, or where they stand in an empty elevator or whether if they drop food on the floor they lick it up and eat it or throw it out and 100 more just like it.

It's a laugh a minute, no matter which party you belong to. Some of the references are out of date because the book was written in 1996, but most of the stuff in it has nothing to do with how old the book is. I almost split a gut on the section about sex alone. [by David]
