Magdalena Ball about this book: Very few poetry books are oriented towards celebration of the masculine. Imagining the Future is a poetry book designed primarily to celebrate fatherhood in its broadest context, including grandfathers. None of the poetry is syrupy - this is real, award-winning poetry written to a theme. Though the author pull no punches in their anaysis of the male animal, the book has been designed to be an ideal father's day gift and is presented with a beautiful, yet masculine original cover image by American composer Ricky Ian Gordon. The book forms a part of the Celebration Series of gift chapbooks that have been designed to be inexpensive substitutes for a card, yet without the cliched language or trite sentiments. Of the book playwright, producer, and Writers' Sanctuary host Kim McMillon says: "Magdalena Ball, and Carolyn Howard-Johnson open the doorway of memory through words echoing thoughts, and feelings on fathers that are so strong they can be touched and heard through voiceless memories that forever cling to us all. Words unspoken between parents and children are uttered in these poems of pain, love, and always truth."
