Book: 50 Shades in Clay by Michele Brenton

Michele Brentonabout this book: This is the first book I not only wrote the words for but also illustrated all by myself and so it is special to me and I hope it will spark some affection in others.
I am of the firm belief that if somebody truly enjoys themselves during the production of a work of art then that will shine through in the final result. Some artists struggle and are extremely intense and that produces remarkable results too – but this isn't one of those pieces of work. I had an absolute breeze producing 50 Shades in Clay and I hope that fun will be shared by those who open its pages or view it on screen.
It is of course a spoof of the Fifty Shades books. In fact it is a spin-off of my original (I use that word ironically of course) spoof of the Fifty Shades books which led me to find myself in the unlikely position of being a bestselling poet. Fifty Shades of Blue – the trilogy comprised of three poems, one for each of the Fifty Shades books and it proved very popular.
I had a lot of fun producing a video animation of the first poem in that trilogy and at first thought about bringing out a cartoon paperback/e-book using animation stills from that video. Unfortunately the owners of the graphic package I used to produce the video were not amenable to that without a great deal of financial outlay on my part making the production the project unfeasible. So I decided to get my modelling clay out and make my own illustrations!
The final book is a very short full-colour picture book intended for adults. Though if you left it lying around there is nothing in it that would cause any embarrassment if picked up by someone innocent of mind.
It is equally enjoyable as a paper book or e-book although it is best viewed on a colour e-eader to fully appreciate the illustrations.
