Anthony Mondalabout this book: The book is a modern book of Poems, which is easy to read, conversational and Thought provoking. I came up with the title of the book one morning while sitting at my desk and the sun rays came pouring through the window lighting up my writing desk. The cover of the book is meant to be a metaphor for Knowledge that illuminates our life-giving us new perspectives and directions-altering profoundly the way we think and act in society. The book being a collection of poems-and many of the poems were written during my long stay in New York city where I also pursued acting and songwriting...some poems were written during my stay in London, uk and some very recent ones in Michigan,USA.
I know we live in a very scientific technological world- so the word research crops up a lot, as if the writer is writing an academic term paper for college exams! Well the reasearch is my own blood and sweat and toil and suffering Living,Imagining, Existing,Dreaming and lots and lots of reading that stands behind this book. One of the most important aspect that I learnt while writing this book is A thing of Beauty created by an artist does not necessarily means it will be well respected in the marketplace.Or in other words you would find your reading public or a willing publisher for that matter. No Sir! that is not how this commercial world works. It prefers to promote banal and trite things and continuously feed it to the general public, so that they may remain in a very unenlightened state merely as consumers. Real research is why the main stream media is so afraid of Thoughts and Intelligence? We make a big deal about rappers with vulgar lyrics while real worthwhile lyrics and lines from a true artist takes a back seat. It is like the Western world is bent on cultural suicide.
