Muddy Message
While the book does have some good suggestions for ways to help visualize, and ultimately attain personal goals; It does so using many mixed metaphors, and "corporate-friendly" buzz words. Activate Your Power falls into the trap of misusing terms like "quantum leap", or "quantum magnet". These terms have been misappropriated by marketers, and MBA's alike to sound scientific, and therefor important and large. While most of the ideas have been lifted from ages-old eastern philosophy, the use of pseudo-science terms in as prevalent a manner as in this book, detract from the message, at least to anyone with a basic idea of the actual science being misquoted.I have attended Mr. Sharir's seminars, and received his book as a gift for attending, but after reading the book [cover to cover, to be fair], I would not recommend the book for purchase at full price. I would however recommend it to anyone who can find it used, or on sale, or like me, as a gift companion book at the seminar. One intriguing caveat is that the ISBN and SKU numbers on the copy that I was presented with, are actually for another author's book ["How to Soar With The Eagles" by Peter Legge], which may make finding a used copy more difficult.
While not a great book, it does make for a passable companion to the seminar. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for another point of view on "personal performance", or just another way of saying the same things said in pretty much any other book in this genre.
