Jill Penningtonabout this book: Have a party, pack the corkscrew and go. I really believed it would be that easy!
'The Diary of a Single Parent Abroad' is a true account of my family relocating to Italy only to discover that we were no longer a family, the marriage was over and my husband had no intention of emigrating.
Abandoned in a foreign country with three small children and limited language skills; no income, no benefits and a house that needed rebuilding, I made the decision to stay, overcoming all the obstacles that lay in my way and managed to build a new life, a new relationship and a new business.
My fantastic children had to adjust not only to a different culture, but also to becoming a one parent, low income family and against the odds ended up being well balanced, healthy teenagers.
Despite things not going according to plan the story has highs as well as lows and takes the misery out of the memoir with an ever present hint of humour.
